Split audio precisely on a beat

Using scissor-shaped tool, I’d like to split an audio track on a precise beat. The roundabout way to do it is to zoom horizontally until you get to a very precise beat and click there on the timeline. But there has to be a way to do it without heavy zooming. Can’t I just set the project cursor on a specific beat (I know how to do that) and then create a split precisely where the project cursor is? How would I do that?

Type the beat # into the transport panel field that displays/controls the cursor position.

You would (unsurprisingly) use the function “Split At Cursor” Alt-X is it’s default key command.

That’s exactly what I was looking for. I’m apologize for missing a function named so well and thanks for pointing it out.

Yes, that’s the part I knew. “Split at cursor” was what I needed. Thanks so much for your reply! I look forward to your other links.
