I’ve wasted so many hours on C15 scores and never getting past certain hurdles, so went back to a C13 score.
It is so much easier, user-friendly and modifiable.
I had very little to do on a score that was almost totally satisfactory, but the first staff was lacking a name and I went to have a name, like the others. but the result was that now all the staffs beyond the 1st have names, when before, only the first had the names. I can’t find or remember how to set it so only the first has the name. I’m not sure of semantics. I mean that there are 3 tracks and I only want the names at the beginning and not subsequently.
Open the Score Settings in the Cubase 13 Score Editor. Navigate to the tab for layout or track/instrument settings and clear the “Short Name” field while keeping the “Full Name” intact. This causes Cubase to display the name only on the first staff system.
Steps in detail:
Open the Note Editor for your track.
Open the score settings (e.g., by double-clicking the track name at the beginning of the score).
Go to the Track or Project/Instruments tab.
Enter the desired name under Name (long name).
Delete the entry in the Short Name field, or leave the field completely blank.
