Startup of Cubase 15 takes ages

Hi there,

after now almost 2 weeks of regularly using Cubase 15 and starting and quitting it, I can say, that it’s not working 100% stable in the startup and shutdown phase.

The things which annoys me most is, that it now takes up to 2-3 minutes until it reaches the Cubase Pro Hub. I don’t know why it is like this. Cubase 14 was much faster in this regards.

Also sporadically when I close a project, sometimes the Hub is not shown anymore before I can quit it manually. It seems to crash. Sometimes when I start it up again, I see then, that it didn’t close properly it it shows me the dialog which usually appears when a crash occured but with no specific information what has caused the previous crash. When I close the project and the Hub doesn’t appear, it doesn’t even feel like a crash (because I didn’t get completely used to the fact that when I close a project the Hub should appear).

Can anyone else observe similar behaviors? I’m on Windows 11

Cheers Paddy

In the Hub there a setting for the Hub at the left side; have you ticked the “open hub when closing project” ?

If you’re on Windows, try setting it to Run As Administrator

Does the status in the loading window show it stuck at a particular step? (Bottom left of the window)

I have setup the default, which is “opened hub when closing project” I guess, because it behaved several times like this. Only when the error appears what I mentioned above, it will close directly without showing the hub.

This solved the long startup time and behaves now as in Cubase 14.

Thanks a lot. I don’t know why this might be necessary? Is it a bug or intentional?

Another thing what I observed today which is even more annoying. Sometimes all my plugins in the inserts (near the bottom) of the Control Room are gone after the crash appeared and I can’t even save those plugins I put in there in a preset. So I always needs to load all my plugins manually again. Also the state for example of MetricAB is then completely gone, with all my reference tracks.

If that is the case then a dump should be generated. If you post it here we can have a look and try to identify the reason for the crash.

There was no dmp-file generated, that’s the problem.

Just an additional information. Since I started Cubase as Admin once yesterday, it seems now also to start within a reasonable amount of time without Admin (e.g. ~20 seconds).
