Status Line appearance

Hi all, I get the status line appearing now every time I open an old, or create a new Cubase 14 pro project? I have looked at previous posts about this issue, but the solutions regarding input / output connections don’t appear to work in CP 14!
When it is showing, none of my status tabs are highlighted in yellow, which apparently is what the original software programming was meant to do.
I’m pretty sure there will be a simple solution one of you will be able to offer to stop this happening!
Thanks for reading!

Hi,

Could you attach a screenshot, please? I would like to see, what is written in the Status line.

Martin, the screen shot is just a little project I set up to see if I could identify what’s going on!!
When I open the project this is what I get, I then use the set up icon (top right) and uncheck the status line box. I then adjust the volume of one of the tracks, then close Cubase. It asks if I want to save changes, and I click yes! I then re-open the project and, surprise, the status line is there again?? I do not use the status info line, so I do not need it using up valuable screen space, so what is happening and more importantly, how can I stop it happening?

Hi,

You are right, it looks correct.

Could you try the following, please?

  • Create an Empty Project.
    => The Status Bar appears.
  • Disable the Status Bar.
  • Close the project and Don’t Save.
  • Create another Empty Project.
→ The project should be created without the Status Bar.
  • Open existing project.
→ The project should be open without the Status Bar.

Martin,
Firstly, let me outline how I have set up and used Cubase since LE4.
When I create a new project, I ensure that, when I close the project, the folder is located on my desktop for easy access.
So, when I follow your instructions above, but open a project via my desktop file, the status line is still there, yet when I open the project via the Cubase icon, then the pro hub, then recent tab, the status bar is NOT there??
Not sure if this helps, but something, somewhere has changed in the program, and I would really like to have it back how it was!!

So, after a little test, I want to confirm:
Opening an existing project via the Recent tab in Cubase hub = no Status bar.
Opening same project from desktop file = Status bar.
Something not right and maybe there is a bigger issue??
