Steinberg Activation manager doesn't even launch for me to Authorise Dorico

If you click “Try Again,” a browser window should open and you’ll be able to authorize Steinberg Activation Manager. At least, that’s always what works for me when I see this message.

Welcome to the forum, Narasimhan. What default browser are you using on your system? I assume you were able to sign in to Steinberg Download Assistant successfully? That uses the same mechanism as Steinberg Activation Manager, so it should work in the same way, i.e. bounce you out to your browser to sign in (though you should already be signed in, so you shouldn’t have to do anything), then confirm your return back to SAM.

Hi, I was using Google Chrome… I have been signed in to SDA but SAM app doesn’t open from my laptop also…

Can you launch SAM directly - from the Finder or from the Desktop, for example? If not, would you be able to zip up the contents of %appdata%\Steinberg\Activation Manager (on Windows) or /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Activation Manager (on Mac) and post the zip file here?

Hi Richard, I tried to several times (even re-booted my laptop a bunch of time) but it didn’t open it yet… Is there some way to only Download and reinstall only SAM?

Thanks

I found it would not work with a VPN running.

Steinberg Activation Manager can be downloaded separately from here Steinberg Activation Manager | Steinberg

If you’re still having problems could you zip up the files I suggested in my previous post? That will allow me to read the SAM log messages.

Thank you Big_Jim_Slade and Richard_Lanyon, I will try both of these and ensure my VPN is not on accidentally.

Hi everyone, I was travelling and hence the delayed response. Thank you very much, I was able to sort this out as per your kind inputs.

Sincerely,

Ravikiran
