Steinberg Activation Manager is like playing Russian Roulette.
It works sometimes, other times I have to restart Nuendo 14.0.32;
Then it works;
Then load another Project, and Groove Agent and Halion say there is no license.
So it does not work.
Sometimes I start Activation Manager and leave it on before starting N14.0.32;
after starting Nuendo, it turns off and says there is a problem, click on “Dismiss”
and all my Licenses show up again; Refresh. Sometimes it works, and sometimes Halion 7 full version and Groove Agent 5 full version say they don’t have a license.
This has been going on intermittently since Activation Manager started.
Then restart Nuendo and all is fine again- except me, I am loosing all my hair by loosing patience.
This drives me crazy. Every. Time. It. Happens.
I thought it might be just a quirk in my system but I am having Activation Manager problems for the past 10 days or so on windows 11.
I have to reinstall Activation Manager every reboot in order to get Dorico and Wavelab to Work.
If I start Wavelab after a system boot I get the message ’ you must install Activation Manager first’.
Yes, I’m having intermittent problems too. I am informed by Nuendo that there is a problem and I must restert or I can dismiss the notice and keep on working whereon the activation manager tells me everything is fine…
Bizarre.
Wasting my time by continuously restarting Nuendo 14.0.32, because Halion 7 and Groove Agent 5 have a problem with not having a License… until I restart Nuendo and the License was always there and legit!!
And then if I open another Project, the same complain returns!!
Alright so there are many cases and just to say this is across other steinberg products becaus I cant start Wavelab or Spectralyers without always reinstalling Activation Manager at every boot first.
Anyone have any issues with Sonnox plugins at the moment (Claro and Voca) also on same systems? Just wondering if some iLok problems are linked - is it a Windows subsystem thing
Sorry for the silence here. I just wanted to let you know that we have this on our radar now and will investigate further. @mart I took your ticket and hope to be able to send a reply early next week with some suggestions. Unfortunately, it’s still summer holiday season and some colleagues handling the SAM are away at the moment.
Hi Ed. Thats great that its on the radar now and yes makes total sense its holiday season for fixes etc. Will continue the workarounds until we hear more.
After going to %temp% and deleting all temp files, and plugging and unplugging the eLicencer it is steady now.
I am really like a blind man here, not knowing exactly what the problem is, but from what I searched, Windows keeps old USB files in that temp folder. So in my case, was emptying the temp folder, and unpugging and plugging the old eLicencer.
As for the Activation Manager, is acting fine for the last few weeks.
