Hi all,
this is due to a problem with the installation that we haven’t seen a lot yet, but it seems to show up more frequently. The problem is that the uninstaler sometimes doesn’t remove all files from the installation.
The workaround is to uninstall the Activation Manager first and after that navigate to C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Activation Manager (or %programfiles%\Steinberg\Activation Manager) and remove the remaining files. After that you can install the Activation Manager again.
I hope this helps you all.
I just tried this and it does not work. I tried disabling the antivirus, uninstalling the app, but it does not work. Any advice? In Steinberg Download Assistant and in my Steinberg profile my Cubase 13 is visible, but Steinberg Download Assistant does not work or does not get the license I bought.
same here - trouble on MAc - Support team blame the age of my computer even though running sequoia - ABleton Live 12 and other software works - The Steinberg Library manager and and download assistant open in similar windows but the activation manager opens with a blank box. I can go to my products in My Steinberg and see that my Cubase 13 Pro Halion 7 and Wavelab has already been activated on this computer but now I can’t use them as the SAM won’t open here - there are so many posts about this - need a fix with a SAM update or allow access to older versions that don’t force update to newest versions as this might help seeing as I and many others have tried a plethora of solutions inc uninstall and reinstalls - please - please help
I used the app “MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta” to uninstall Steinberg Activation Manager and installed it again and it worked again. PC XPS DELL Windowa 11.
TODAY, MARCH 29TH - SOLUTION - (It worked in my case) . I managed to make it work offline, but the other apps stopped working. When I turned on the PC today, the “Activation Manager” icon simply disappeared. I tried to install it again and error 1612 appeared, I tried to uninstall it and the same error appeared.
I used the app “MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta” to uninstall Steinberg Activation Manager and installed it again and it worked again. PC XPS DELL Windows 11.
Open the “MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta” application, search for Steinberg Activation Manager and select install. Do not select uninstall. Then just install SAM again. For Windowa 11
I’m also a Mac user and still learning MacOS. Pointers would help here too. Although, my issue with “No valid license found” has nothing to do with any installing issue. Everything has worked fine for months, then, two or three weeks ago, boom… “No valid license found.” Out of the blue.
Yes my friend, if you read the post I linked to you will see I have given credit for the help and suggestions to all who have posted on this thread, especially Grim who was the first to suggest looking into emails. I was reluctant at first to start changing email address as I still have no recollection of making such changes to begin with.
However, I have learned a great deal from this and, right now, I’m enjoying having my licenses back on line.
All the best
