Running Windows 10, Steinberg Download Manager starts fine and I just installed Cubase 14 upgrade. Cubase 14 starts but at “checking licenses” it tells me there is no valid license. I try to start Steinberg Activation Manager, and it does not start. Started Windows Task Manager to end tasks for SAM and Steinberg License. I uninstalled SAM, deleted %APPDATA%\Steinberg\Activation Manager folder and reinstalled. No change. Switched default browser to Edge. No change. Please advise.
It should be okay after a restart. Anyway, you do not need to start the activation manager to run Cubase 14. It will activate itself when running Cubase. You can also check up on your licenses on your Steinberg account. if all lost, try downloading the latest version of activation manager from Steinberg and install.
Restarting did not help. Cubase 14 still hangs on “checking licenses” and then tells me there is no valid license. Cubase 14 shows up in my Steinberg account but reports “not used on any computers”. I have uninstalled/reinstalled SAM with no change.
maybe there is a firewall refusing Steinberg to connect? or even are you offline?
