Hi, i use the CI1 usb interface which is fine for my needs, but when i activate CB i can only use the driver when the unit is connected to the laptop, is this correct? as i thought the driver would be on the actual laptop, silly question but something i need to put to rest lol the reason for the question is if i dont use the steinberg driver when loading a project using the general asio driver the mix is always speeded up faster like a cartoon voice lol.

Yes, you can use the driver only if the device is connected.
Regarding to speed, there is probably different Sample Rate on your (General) audio device and different in the project.
