Steinberg Download Assistant Fails to Download

Steinberg Download Assistant used to work but has now started to fail to download anything. The error message says:

An error occurred while downloading “xxxxxx”. Please try again later.

In this directory
C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Steinberg Download Assistant\logs

are logs which say things like the following:

Yes, I am getting the same error message. I just raised a support ticket.

I was able to get it to work as follows:

  1. Go to Settings, Windows Security, Firewall & Network Protection, Allow an app thhrough firewall, Allow another app,

  2. browse to the program in directory such as:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Steinberg Download Assistant

and select the program in that directory.

That solution did not work for me. Appreciate the share in any event.

Correction: After rebooting my computer the solution did work and I was able to successfully download my files. Thanks!

I use Avast for my firewall/anti-virus. I looked to see if the SDA was being blocked but couldn’t see anything wrong.

Everything was working fine a few weeks ago, so has there been some update of Windows that has caused a problem? Somebody must have an answer because I see a lot of others having trouble.
