Several years ago I thought I saw on Steinberg.net an interface that could replace my Tascam us-428. It has 2 MIDI ins and outs, 2 mic pres and 2 instrument/line inputs. It also has 8 non-powered sliders which toggle up to as many as I need with Cubase.
Am I mistaken? I have been searching for several hours and can only find some that are interface only or interface with very few controls.
Are you thinking about the Houston, by chance … ?

What I have now with the Tascam us-428 gives me basic controls of stop, play, record, go to left locator etc, and I can control the volume of 8 tracks at a time, and more midi features I do not use. At the same time it supplies also an interface for 4 audio tracks and 2 midi devices.
I thought Steinberg had offered an updated version with similar features about 2 years ago, but maybe it was another company. Tascam now has the Model 12, but I really don’t need a mixer for live performances.
