Steinberg - Please fire your website designers

Im a webdesigner by occupation… and even i am confused + stunned by the lack of simplicity and complex incongruency… even doing the most simple tasks requires large amounts of time, the website is a maze of disinformation and needs a huge overhaul + redesign - FIRE YOUR WEBDESIGNERS… they are really bad… and have failed to make dealing with steinberg a pleasurable experience. You have a great product… stop ruining your own image by using such a horrible website + information design.

Steinberg website is one of the worst I’ve ever used. BTW … I’m too (well … used to be) a website designer.

Another reason I rarely come here anymore :frowning:

How many clicks does it require to get from the Steinberg home page to here?

WAY TOO MANY.

And that’s when you know that your website isn’t exactly top-notch.

I’m certainly no web designer, but yeah I agree… it’s certainly not the easiest of sites to navigate around… not compared to numerous other sites I visit.

Aloha s, and welcome to the forum.
{‘-’}

Main issue:

When you buy something - how do you find the downloads?

No kidding. No other forums I visit take as many clicks to get to where I’m going. Maybe the web designer worked on V7 and is used to the extra clicks.

I don’t actually use the website much other than this forum which works for me.
What is the problem with it? I can usually find what I need.

Two clicks here… way too many indeed!

Has something changed? There is a www.steinberg.net link in the top center of the forum pages. It takes you right to Steinberg’s home page.

Also, for updates, it takes one click as well from Steinberg’s home page. Hover over support and select “current downloads”.

I don’t get all the drama in the forum lately. “Fire your website designers”? WTF. Maybe if I visited more, I would understand the lack of harmony. heh… lack of harmony from musicians. LOL

Yeah, splendid trip to an alternate reality, guys. Now back to the REAL world:

I use Steinberg Forums as a bookmark and have no problems whatsoever.
Get to grips guys, there really isn’t much of a problem here.

Guess I don’t see the problem either.

I have this link saved as a favorite:

One click, and :exclamation: BLAM-O :exclamation: I’m there, I mean, here. I am occasionally perplexed going to a new website, but if I hang around much, I do kinda figure it out. Guess I’ve been hanging round this town to long and know the front streets as well as the back :sunglasses:

Just got to thinking; if I got worried about how many clicks I was making, I would never get my editing done in a song

Shouldn’t we be all recording & mixing instead?

Just sayin’…

If you want to see a crazy website design…try EZ pass! Sticking a pin in your arm Is more fun

Well, I guess we won’t fire anyone because the forum (which isn’t exactly our main part of the website) has several sub forums.
This is why web browsers have this brilliant feature called bookmarks. It’s not like every user has the same priorities and interests when browsing our website content and this is why some pages require more than one click.

Yes. Bookmarks are the answer. In the time it took to whine about it, a bookmark could have been created. If the web designer deserves to be fired, then, certainly, the guy whining about this deserves to be kicked in the junk.

who cares as far as i’m concerned. give me a glitch-free cubase and everything else is secondary. some of the best gear manufacturers have the worst looking websites (up to a point where it almost seemed ‘the worse looking website > the more esoteric gear’ ;]).

That’s not a good excuse for clunky web design. Most sites have site maps where you can reach every part of it with a single click. You should consider it, but then again you made it abundantly clear that you think your website is blameless and perfect and therefore you don’t accept any suggestion. Pity.
