Steinberg UR44 audio interface output suddenly unmapped

Hey!
I hope this is the correct section for my issue.
It would make me happy if I could get support here:

My Setup is very simple:

  • Cubase Artist 12
  • Steinberg UR44 USB interface
  • Windows 11
I’m used to work with headphones that are connected into the USB interface.

Since yesterday everything worked fine for a long time.
During(!) a session I worked yesterday, the audio output suddenly got silent. First I thought that I have pressed some “wrong” button accidentally, so I closed and opend a new project.
Then I get following infos: screenshot A

I checked the audio connection output and get this:
screenshot B

I only can set to speakers at the device port, the UR44 outputs are gone.

The strange thing is, that if I open the matsering preset in cubase, the UR44 is there, but it seems only for the inputs. But it is not the case, that the UR44 is missing completely:

Also in Windows, the UR44 output is fine and works.

I checked the latest drivers for the UR44 and reinstalled them.
I disconnected and reconnected the UR44 to the PC.
So far nothing helped.

Before re-installing Cubase: are there any other things I could try/check?

Kind regards,
Peter

Hi and welcome to the forum,

The ASIO Driver switched to the Generice Low Latency. In the Studio > Studio Setup > Audio System, select the Steinerg/Yamaha ASIO Driver, please.

Ah its so simple… thank you so much that solved my problem!
:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

By the way, what is the difference between “Steingberg built-in ASIO driver” and the one you recommend, Martin (“Yamaha Steinberg ASIO”)? I’m wondering if this difference could be a cause of my constant crashes since several months. This “built-in ASIO Driver” appearead one day, and I don’t know why… same as this “Waves Soundgrid ASIO”…

Thanks!

Hi,

The Yamaha/Steinberg driver is the dedicated one for your device.
