Stem direction issue in condensing

I am condensing a score for string orchestra which contains some divisi parts. For one part (violin I) which has “div. a 2” starting in the middle, it gets condensed onto a single staff with the stem direction of the 1st note of the upper part pointing down, instead of up. I can’t seem to correct this, including trying to re-set the direction in the Properties panel.

Is this a bug, or any other explanation for why it occurred? and how to fix?

See pickup to m. 11 below:

With condensing issues, we normally need to see the Dorico file, or the offending portion of it with a couple of measures on either side.

A snapshot of the uncondensed full score, or the Dorico file (excerpt) itself?

The Dorico file itself, or a segment thereof that contains the problem section.

See attached – a Dorico file fragment, already condensed. The incorrect stem direction is in violin 1 in m. 2, beat 4.

I’ve no idea what caused it, but just delete it and replace it and normal service is restored.

In engrave mode with condensing on, if you select the note with the incorrect stem direction, you will see that the Stem adj. property is set to -5 1/4 spaces. Simply deactivate this property to restore the correct stem direction.

Alternatively select both notes in Engrave Mode and select menu Edit > Reset Position

All great suggestions, works well. Thanks -
