1- can’t get the tied-to half note C to have a vertical stem
2- better yet, how can I just have it be a dotted half, no tie needed
To flip the direction of a stem - select the stem and hit SHIFT+ALT+F
To get dotted half, no tie - try the Forced Duration. It is the icon just below the Lock in Write mode. select that, then select the note length you would like it to be.
Both of the stems in the 2nd half of that bar are reversed. The last eighth rest and note are in the same voice as the dotted half on the downbeat. I would not copy this as written, but let Dorico handle the stems.
The half note cue is tied to the quarter note cue. I had to manually flip the stems on the eighth and the quarter in the cur voice. The half note, even though tied to the quarter, refuses to flip up…
I’d actually prefer to avoid the tie altogether and just change that quarter note cue to a dotted half, even though it would extend across the mid measure point.
Thank you but it appears to be a bug, as I did force flip the stem on the quarter. The half note it is tied to does not respond to the force flip.
Thank you for the force duration tip. I thought the settings in notation options would allow me to not have to tie across the middle of the bar… But at least I can use this to make things appear the way I want. Thanks again
Ok, great, got this how I want- Thanks!
How can I flip this cue half note stem up?
and how can I make this low Eb be an eighth tied to a half?
