Stem shortening (or lack thereof) and concave note groups unexpected behavior

Hello all,

I’m running into a bug/unexpected behavior when I have the “flat eighth note beams with inner note closer to the beam than outer notes” setting set to disallow stem shortening, where sometimes the stems will use the stem length of the note below (stems down) or above (stems up) the note closest to the beams. In doing some testing and some process of elimination, I believe this is an interaction between the aforementioned setting while having the “Ted Ross” settings (Notes > Stems “Shorten beamed stems” and Beams > Vertical Position “Snap to staff line position”) enabled, and it appears in the specific circumstance of the inner pitch closest to the beam not matching one of the outer notes and that same pitch being on a line and not a space.

This is the (or at least my) expected outcome of having the 3 settings set as described, where the A is used to determine the stem length and beam placement (and is where the A’s beam is normally placed with the “Ted Ross” settings enabled):

This is the actual outcome, where the beam is lengthened to sit on the G line rather than straddle the B line:

This is the beamed group transposed up and down a step (the one a step lower has the beam sitting on the G line, as expected, and the one transposed up a step has the beam sitting on the B line, as expected):

This is with the “Ted Ross” settings disabled, where the expected outcome is that the A’s beam should now hang from the B line (since it’s no longer forced to only sit or straddle), and the actual outcome is that the beam does indeed hang from the B line:

I don’t believe there’s a way to adjust this in Engraving Options currently beyond globally adjusting the stem lengths (which would cause issues for basically everything else involving stems except for this one specific circumstance). Right now I just tackle the issue manually as I see it happen since it’s pretty quick to switch to Engrave mode, manually move the beam up 3/4 of a space, and then go back to Write mode.
