Quick question: when I audition arrangements, my MIDI keyboard keeps sending CC1 and it instantly resets the dynamics on my orchestral VSTs. Read/Write is off, but Cubase still follows the mod‑wheel value. This becomes very annoying when one has many tracks.
Do you mean the keyboard sends data, even though you aren’t moving the mod wheel? It seems broken if that’s the case…
Any of your solutions would be equal, plus you can use the Project Input Transformer, which can be opened with a keystroke, or a Track Input Transformer.
When I had that problem with my old Fatar keyboard I disconnected the cable to the mod wheel
Yes! If I’ve been playing a standalone VST with my MIDI keyboard and the mod wheel is physically at ~20%, then I open a Cubase project and click on any VST track (Iconica Sketch in my case), the instrument immediately plays ppp — even if:
The Score Editor dynamic is marked f, or
The Key Editor CC1 lane is set to 100
It seems like Cubase instantly reads the incoming CC1 from the keyboard and overwrites whatever CC1 value is in the tracks selected. I have another MIDI controller. I am going to test it out.
