I am in the middle of transcribing a piece by the late great light music composer, conductor and saviour of the BBC light music archive, Ernest Tomlinson - trying to follow his manuscript exactly.
I have come across a passage where he encloses the word molto within the decrescendo symbol which I would like to reproduce.

Note that you can do that maybe more easily (i.e. not by adding a text and move it), by entering a prefix and set the modifier position to “Inside” (possible to set it as default in Engraving Options:
How are you adding the molto? It looks like staff text, but you can also add it as a prefix or suffix of the hairpin in the properties panel. The placement can then be set in Engraving options.
You created the molto as Text and moved it in Engrave Mode. Not all modifications are propagated to Galley View.
Nevertheless Dorico provides gradual dynamics with molto or poco annotations.
Select the hairpin, klick on molto in the Gradual Dynamics section of the right zone and make these settings in the properties
