Hi! I couldn’t find it here, but maybe that’s because of my lack of English terminology for this.
I would like to create this string technique in Dorico:
But if I do it in two voices, there’s a lot of rests that I’m not sure what to do with (End voice/Start voice would drive me crazy and the rests can’t be deleted) and if I try to connect the beams manually, it always takes in also the one note in between. Would someone know how to do this, or refer me to a thread that discusses this?
You can also just use “delete rests”, which is quicker and you don’t need to filter for rests at all - just apply it to the whole measure (or even better, to the whole phrase, once you have written it out).
Caution @Marie_Necasova - simply removing rests might remove all the beaming and flip the stems! You may have to manually beam together each pair in each voice before removing rests, and afterwards select the downstem voice and flip (F) it (and also flip two of the slurs).
If you have the patience to work out how to do this, you will have learnt a huge amount about how Dorico treats voices and rests!
