Studio pics!

Am I seeing a 10cm thick Komplete 5 manual? :open_mouth:

Yes.

Interesting collection of books on the left side of the pic.

Nice!

Very nice. What are those 2 things in front of you, underneath the monitors?

Hi… The round, black tubes spotted around the room are ASC Tube Traps. They are reasonably effective bass traps as well as diffusers. They help out a great deal in the low end, especially considering the small dimensions of the room.

Sorry… I just re-read the post and realized you were probably talking about the controllers… They are two four-bay housings for the CMCs. I got them directly from Yamaha as they are not a regular stock item. The one one the left contains four FDs and the one on the right has a PD, CH, TP and AI.

Hi again… I just noticed that the ‘Frame Four’ is available in the online Steinberg shop … $149.00

Oh nice, they’re pretty big!

Wow. Some really nice studios there guys!
I want that e-drum kit Strophoid!

I can recommend it, it’s absolutely great! Not exactly cheap, but after spending 2 hours in the store trying different Yamaha’s, Rolands, Drummit, Alesis etc I really couldn’t resist

The Project Studio, just rewired with a patchbay. The quality’s not great, but…

Oh, and for the mods  :

Another modular man … there are more of us here than I thought.

that’s an impresive looking set up man…what are those monitors set into the wall? …Kevin

Those are Cerwin Vega E series which give a very different response than the reference monitors - (helps with mix translation). They are built into custom sealed cabinets which port down into large bass traps (hangers) below as they are a bit bass heavy for the room.
Pictures of their construction as well as many other aspects of the studio construction can be found on John L. Sayers web forum New Studio in Turbenthal

thank you and that was a very interestin g thread…Kevin

Wow Brihar, that’s really impressive!
There’s a lot of work in there, much more than you can tell from the finished pics

Thanks. It was a lot of work, took about a year, but worth it.
Now I’m being asked to help out with other’s studios - only with the design luckily.

Nice Steve, one of these days I’m going to have to do the electric drum kit thing. But my small room is jammed already. Not sure where I’d put it.
