Sudden tempo change, what the hell?

I have a song I’ve been working on and now editing phase. I don’t understand what have happened, but after bar 31 tempo changes from 50 to 46, and instruments and vocals are not in sync anymore??? I haven’t touched anynthing on tempo though. Just editing vocal stems. I have Cubase 13 Pro. How I can fix the latter part of the song now back to where it was, fixed tempo whole song ??? I cannot understand what caused this.

Do you have a Tempo Track in your Project (it could be hidden)? If so, make sure there are no events on it at or around bar 31.

To learn from future mishaps, I suggest mounting a surveillance camera pointing at your screen and one at your peripherals. This way, you’ll know “what happened”.

Not to my knowledge, but need to check. If not there, I wonder if it’s possible to fix that tempo issue somehow?

The Tempo Track is the only thing I can think of if you see the tempo change on the Transport panel unless you have an External Sync source activated.

I’ve been creating this song in Cubase 13 and been playing around with differ tempos using the kick track which is MIDI and an audio track in the project. Suddenly I noticed the bass which is the 3rd trk is racing mostly in the first one third of the song. Why?

…haunted?

Hi and welcome to the forum!
This can be due to a lot of reasons: could you please post a screenshot of the bass track and the tempo track in the project window? If there’s automation please show the automation lanes as well, please.

Cheers!
