Suddenly no sound

On Cubase 14, when Im using a MIDI instrument, whether Halion Sonic, Retrologue, Groove Agent SE, I’ll have the instrument panel open and will: turn a knob on the instrument and suddenly there is NO sound from the MIDI instrument, anymore. It’s reading the incoming MIDI note signal because I can see it on the MIDI In activity monitor in the lower right. However, when I duplicate the track/ instrument, no problems at all, until I turn a knob/ slider on the instrument, then NO sound again. Any help here? Thanks

Hello Mike,

I’ve got quite the same issue. Contacting Steinberg support didn’t help.

I don’t get the issue with vsts from other companies (spectrasonics/arturia). So I guess this may come from steinberg vsts only.

What midi controller do you use ?

Which sound card do you have ?

I use arturia minilab3 and RME Fireface UC.

I’m running macos 26.3 with last version of every steinberg product.

I had the same issue with Cubase 13.

Also, could you send me your cubase project for me to test it on my computer ?

Hey, I just updated my OS to 15.7.4 and I think it took care of all the problems I was experiencing. Wish I could be of more help, good luck. I will reach out if the problem reoccurs
