SWAM instruments trill playback

I’m using the SWAM solo strings and I have an expression map to handle things like pizz/col legno, tremolo, etc., but obviously there’s no trill sample. So I was expecting it to just play using the performed trill settings. However, I find that it just seems to play one note of the trill—e.g., for a notated m2 trill is plays the minor 2nd up—then cuts off right away, ignoring the note duration.

If I add trills to the expression map (with no keyswitch or CC info—just empty) it plays the full note duration with no trill… That’s obvious enough…

I’m just not sure why it won’t perform the trills when they’re not specified in my expression map? I thought that was the default behaviour.

Any thoughts why this is happening?

Version 3.7.2 of Swam Solo Violin is responding perfectly to trills here… both major and minor !

Thanks. I wasn’t concerned about it being the SWAM instrument as those just respond to normal MIDI trill performance (and Dorico is supposed to be playing them back “manually”). I’m just not sure why Dorico’s playback isn’t attempting to perform them. Are you using an Expression Map for your SWAM instruments? I’m mostly wondering if there’s something I’ve specified incorrectly (or not specified) in my Expression Map that might cause this.

Okay, strangely the note with the trill was slightly overlapping the next note (same pitch), and that seems to have been causing the “cut-off” sound. Problem solved.
