Greetings. I wish to know if it is at all possible to change the placement of a chord symbol and diagram. In this image, the chord diagram appears under the symbol. Is it at all possible to place the chord diagram above the chord symbol (switch them around), or perhaps beside it?
I don’t believe so, no - is that a convention you’re familiar with? Could you share some examples of it?
This is not something I have done before, but as a guutarist who sightreads lots of music, i think it is important to teach my students to read the most important elements first and place anything secondary in the peripheries.
For that purpose, perhaps consider putting the diagrams at the top instead of in the music?
Resurrecting this thread because I’m curious if this will ever be implemented. In Finale I always put my chord diagrams next to the symbol in order to save vertical space. I’m surprised, given how flexible Dorico is, that this isn’t possible.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen chord symbols and chord diagrams placed to the left or right of each other. Doesn’t that cause problems in music with a quick harmonic rhythm, e.g. if you need to change chords on every beat of a bar?
