Synchronize Plug-in Program Selection to Track Selectiom?

Anyone know what this undocumented preference does under Plug-ins.
“Synchronize Plug-in Program Selection to Track Selection” It sounds like it would update your view of open plug-ins to the selected track or something but can’t seem to figure this out.

Seems to have something to do with a Keyboard Controller link I think.

Finally just figured it out, looks like it syncs with a control surface when you are editing a plug-in so the same insert slot now comes into focus. That is very handy.
