SynthV beta Bug

I too watched John’s video and bought a copy of SynthV. A lot of fun. But there is a bug in the interface with Dorico.

John mentions that you can only have one flow per file if you’re using SynthV, because otherwise if, for example, Dorico starts playback at bar 1 of flow 2, SynthV will not know it is flow 2 and will start playing back at at bar 1 + the number of bars in flow 1.

For instance, if flow 1 has 30 bars, and you play back from the beginning of flow 2, synth V will play back from bar 31.

The bug is that even if you delete flow 1 this happens. In other words, just deleting the flow doesn’t seem to be enough. You have to start with a virgin file to get the syncing to work. At least that’s what I’m finding.

Short of copying all the music into a new file, I’m wondering whether there’s any way to get Dorico to reset some internal counter so that bar 1 of flow 1 is indeed that.

The workaround for now that I’ve found is to paste the xml in SynthV well ahead, according to the number of bars that the ghost flow had. For instance, in this screenshot, it seems that the old deleted flow had 22 bars, so moving the xml to bar 23 means that when Dorico plays bar 1, SynthV will be in sync (it will start playing on bar 23).
