Is there a possibility to add an option for “System Preferences” as output in ASIO Drivers in the future? So the same output gets selected as the system (on Mac OS) currently has? This is a well established option in other apps like logic for example.
Possible or not, I can’t tell. Steinberg is not using the MacOS sound system directly but through an extra layer (CoreAudio to ASIO) and our ASIO system does not have such a concept of system preference. Therefore, it would be difficult to build it in and currently we have no plans to do so.
