System text to Staff text

Is there a way to change System text to Staff text?

Only the opposite I think.

As @jesele suggests, the new available command works only from Staff-attached text to System Text.
(And this, I think, is because Dorico cannot know to which staff it should attach the converted System text.)

The fastest method I know to convert System text to Staff-attached text is:

  • select your System text and press Enter (or just double click on it) to activate the text editor
  • Command (Control)+A to select all the text, (or left click three times to select all, even if on multiple lines)
  • Command(Control)+X to cut
  • ESC to exit the editor
  • select something at the rhythmical position on the desired staff, where you want to paste the staff text
  • Shift+X to create a new staff text
  • Command(Control)+V to paste
  • ESC
    (if someone knows a faster method, please… :wink: )

With Stream Deck or Keyboard Maestro you could easily create macros that do this procedure with “a couple of clicks click” (I think: it would be necessary to create one macro for selecting all and cutting and exiting, then select manually the desired position, and one macro to create staff text and pasting and exiting.).
