hey guys,

i have 2 computers, a Windows & Macbook.

My windows died so i downloaded and activated cubase 13 on my Macbook.

After installing i keep getting this message and and cubase wont open

any suggestions what could it be?

i had on my macbook cubase 8.5 and it worked perfect.

Welcome to the Forum

The release of HALion Sonic SE in the screenshot is an ancient version, you should update it to the release that comes with Cubase 13. The screenshot shows version 2.0.3.94, the current release is 7,x

Hi jurgenP, thanks for the reply
i initially installed the latest vesrion of Halion Sonic and all the recommended VSTs.

After the installation i noticed that Cubase 8.5 is still installed on my Macbook so i uninstalled it.
could this be the problem maybe?

You can have multiple installations on the machine at the same time. However it shouldnโ€™t harm if it is removed.

The screenshot shows a crash file, that might give more information. Unfortunately for me this is from a Mac and I avoid Apple completely. But there are other folks around here who run Apple devices and might get an idea about the problem, so just upload that file here.

thanks!
:that is the crash log

Cubase 13_2024-10-21-165334_h-MacBook-Pro-sl-lwn.crash (128.0 ืงืดื‘)

JuergenP pointed to the right direction, HALion Sonic 2 is pretty old now, weโ€™ve seen that crash a few times. Unfortunately the old shared files are not deleted when installing HS7.

I canโ€™t remember if we offered an uninstaller with HS2 or an .app entry back then, in any case, please check Go โ†’ Applications and uninstall it (will be replaced automatically by the current version in existing projects).

Please also check the path given at the top of the Safe Start warning, you can delete that file manually (should uninstalling fail to delete it), and Cubase should start.

worked!!! thank you so much
