Hi there,
Obviously new Cubase 14 does not support TAB function behavior as it was in older versions of Cubase, resulting in that i can not longer create macros in my midi remote app Metagrid Pro and probably Stream Deck.
( Pressing TAB for entering search bar of Track Presets Menu and other things just don’t work). Please bring that function back since days of work customizing things are just lost.
Hi,
In which area exactly stopped the Tab working for you, please?
Ok,
Previously when " Using Track Preset " window was opened and by pressing TAB keyboard button I could cycle through
"- search bar- select preset- add track "and make custom commands on my Metagrid Pro remote.
The macro as one command was as follows:
- Using Track Preset.
- TAB TAB TAB ( entering search bar was highlighted with yellow)
- Nexus (entering text ).
- TAB ( Move down to enter)
- Enter.
Now in Cubase 14 tapping TAB button is not entering search bar at all, its only cycling throughout presets, which leads me to click with my mouse to enter a name of preset and then click to select it to load.
It is no longer possible to navigate through UI items in this window with the Tab key
here is the video link what i mean
Honestly, seems they’ve been determined to remove all TABBING capabilities throughout the app for many years now… Here’s a thread going back to 2019..
Ability to TAB through dialog boxes (export, import, add audio track, et al) like earlier versions - Cubase - Steinberg Forums.
I agree that it looks like that, however the presence of multiple commands in the navigate and focus categories, suggest that it’s most probably a programming mistake/miss.
As a side note, there’s a reason shortcuts got this name, they help users to accomplish tasks much faster than having to use mouse all the time. Cubase has always offered a bunch of these, and I think such issues should be fixed asap.
