Dear Steinberg, I just want to throw another reminder out there to please fix the crashing with the tempo detection tool at 48k. 44.1 just works and no issues. 96k also has issues and just will not allow you to move tempo markers, but at least it does not crash/hang. Those are the only freqs I tested.

you have a 48kHz project
Load a 48kHz wave file
select the clip and then click Analyze from Tempo Detection Panel
Basically, yes, the project is at 48k, and the file is imported/converted to 48k. Usually the first auto detection works at 48k, but attempting to make any changes in the tempo markers in warp mode after that have a high chance it will freeze up while reanalyzing. When Cubase freezes in this case, I do not get any dump or log files to tell me what happened.
