Hello. Please tell me how to adjust the tempo font size. Thank you.
Paragraph styles.
Could you please explain in more detail?
In Dorico 6, change Library > Paragraph Styles > Tempo (Metronome Mark). In Dorico 5, change Library > Font Styles > Metronome Text Font and Metronome Music Text Font.
Thank you for your always kind explanation.
I have an additional question. It worked as you said. However, the numbers are getting bigger, but the notes are not getting bigger. Can the notes be bigger too?
Do you have Dorico 5? Make sure you adjust both font styles: Metronome Text Font and Metronome Music Text Font. The first one is for the numbers and the second one is for the note.
It’s pro5. I’ll have to change it to pro6 soon. Thank you.
I adjusted the Adagio font size in the Immediate Tempo Text Font. However, the a tempo font also gets bigger. Is there a way to make only the Adagio font bigger?
It’s the expected behaviour, since Adagio and A Tempo belong to the same tempo family (i. e. are displayed in the same font style).
If you want a tempo to appear smaller than Adagio, you can select a tempo and, in the Properties panel > Common > Custom scale, set a value smaller than 100%.
Before doing that, make sure to set “Set Local Properties” to Locally or Globally, depending on whether you want the scale change to apply only in the full score (locally) or also in the parts (globally).
Or you can also input A tempo as a system-attached text with a custom paragraph style.
Thank you. I understand the method you mentioned a little. Then, if there is an a tempo after rit, it may not be expressed that it gradually slows down and then returns to normal tempo. Are you saying to input a tempo with Shift+x?
With Shift+X you won’t get any playback effect.
If you want to keep the right playback, try to do as shown in the screenshot: just change the scale of the tempo marks.
Yes, thank you. I will try it.
