I have a question about the location of immediate tempo markings (also, tempo equations). By default, it’s only printed in the top part of the page, but I think it’s quite common to have this marking repeated for the strings in orchestral scores. However, I can’t find a way to have this indication in both the woodwind and string areas. I’ve tried Ctrl+C without success… also didn’t find anything in Engraving options…
Hi @Nikita_Sorokin, there is in Dorico 6 a new Layout Option to customise where Dorico visualises different categories of System-attached items above Specific Players:
I’ve experimented with these settings and, of course, they offer more flexibility, but I’m still unable to find a solution to my problem.
In one particular case, I don’t need the tempo mark to be copied to the strings because there is only one instrument at the top: the timpani. In this situation, I only want one tempo mark at the top. However, I am still unable to work out how to do it!
Or, am I wrong and it’s a good practice to always copy the tempo mark, even in such cases?
In that case, you could use (for this particular Tempo mark) a system-attached text and configure it differently in System-Attached Items > Specific Players. Fot the text, you can choose the Tempo (immediate or gradual) Paragraph Style to match the same font and size as the real Tempo marks.
