Text Frames only allow text in lower half

Hi

I’m on Dorico 3.1 for Mac and I’m having problems with text frames. If I add a text frame, anywhere I double click in it, the carat inserts halfway down the frame. There is no way I can get the carat to allow me to type anything in the top half. I have tried resetting master pages and starting over and still no joy.

If you select the frame itself, the properties panel will show a property called Vertical Alignment. By default it’s set to “Center”, meaning that your cursor will indeed appear halfway down the frame. Type your text then set the Vertical Alignment to Top.
