Text frames overlapping

I want in my footer centered text and right-aligned text. Seems I need separate Text frames, so I have a full-width frame with the centered text and a smaller frame at the right margin with the right-aligned text, and they overlap. They print fine, but I can’t seem to ‘click through’ the full-width frame to select the text in the other frame to edit. Is there a way to change the layering, or some other way to select specific frames?

Hi @spencermusic , to edit the content of overlapping text frames (in Engrave mode, editing for example a Page template),

  • select the desired frame by clicking on a free margin of it
  • use the TAB button to deactivate the selection of the control points
  • click ENTER, to edit the content of that text frame (the ENTER button opens the editor for that frame, but as I said you need no control points activated to be able to do that).

Tip: if you have one control point selected (use TAB to switch between no selection and selection of the upper left control point), you can navigate between them with the arrow keys, and then use the shortcut alt+arrow key to move the margins as desired. There are three possible shortcuts for tiny, medium and bigger movements. Here the Manual for this:
