Text overlaps

How can I avoid such text overlaps? (1) As workaround I have set the flow titles to right aligned (2)

, but this is no solution for me.

Thnks you and regards LO

You could for example add a line break before the “&”. Here is how you can achieve it:

I guess you moved the text frames in the First page template – or worse in the page itself.
The default text frame positions provide enough room for a longer layout name.

Actually Klarinette as layout name is sufficient, the player sees immediately that both instruments are required. Or use Klarinette (A & B), Dorico’s habit to put all doubling instruments of the same family in the layout name is not always useful.

And Kl. in the text box at the beginning on the flow is pointless, too. What else can it be? Use custom text in A and in B.

PS: And be proud of the German composer, the German lyricist and also the German arranger. Bâ™ is not appropriate

HI @Lothar, adding to the suggestions by @Vadian, here how you can rename the Layout, to have the shorter version of it in the score (generated by the token), and some Options that you can change to obtain what has being suggested (with one override for the label at start of flow):

(If you use the non German note names)

(Change language and note names to German)

(Unfortunately there is no way to write the flat into the Custom text of the Instrument change, in case you use the non german note names, FWIK. So the suggestion to use staff text is a good alternative)

I’m wondering why the Show only the change of transposition… setting doesn’t apply to the occurrence at the start of the flow. The custom text workaround is a bit annoying
