If so, then I missed that.
Been keeping an eye out for some announcement!

Been keeping an eye out for some announcement!
Just had a check and looks like it landed in the past few weeks:
Iām not showing any vouchers for it though, will have a check over the weekend!
Thanks, @skijumptoes .
I posted on that thread
I recently picked up this interface for the sake of interest, I liked it so much I swapped my ur44 for the ur28m.
The chips are exactly the same, the only difference is the functionality.
3 pairs of monitors, AUX, spdif, mono, dim, mute
digital volume control.
I donāt know why they havenāt updated it.
This is a great discussion and really useful for me. I have been using a Ionix u42s - yes a dinosaur. But I am having some issues with it not always connecting to the pc, eg no usb light. So I think it may be time for a new interface.
There seems to be two trains of thought or threads of discussion here. The Steinberg products versus RME. The UR44 is a lot cheaper for the hobbyist/small time producer than the RME. The discontinued UR816C is coming closer to the cost of the RME products.
The 32-bit/192 kHz audio resolution versus 64 bit of some audio interfaces is also something I ponder. Some say beyond 24bit you wonāt know the difference, but it is something to consider.
Can you please name all audio interfaces with 64 bit resolution that you know?
After 24-25 years of MOTU, I just switched back to RME last month. Grabbed a Digiface USB and a second Ferrofish Pulse to max it out, no complaints hereā¦
Was planning on getting the new 828 to replace my 828x but could not pass up a half off for the Digiface USB (had to order from Germany) and $400 less for the Pulse eitherā¦ Compared to the MOTU which took a bit before it was ready to go, the Digiface is ready and outputting sound immediately after it turns on. I donāt have to turn it on in a certain order, donāt need a 20ā+ USB cable to plug it directly into the Mac either (works great in a hub next to my rack), and the thing doesnāt drop out and cut out when I plug in/unplug other USB devicesā¦ To be fair, the MOTU is fairly old, and the old kext driver hasnāt been updated for more than OS compatibility in a couple of years. The Digiface had a new update about a week before I ordered mine.
Long-time RME user here, have not had to even think about audio interfaces since switching to the RME RayDAT PCIe ten years ago. Will shortly be also getting the Digiface USB. Just do it.
Same here. After switching to RME products over 15 years ago not ONE single issue. Stable, fast and reliable - no matter what. Admittedly, my advice is biased. Guilty.
Sorry Johnny I just saw this reply. Like I said I ponder. Whilst I was trawling through the internet (looking at interfaces) I saw some advertising 64 bit. I donāt wish to spend so much time finding those again.
I think my confusion may come from relation to both CPU architecture and audio resolution. Some may have been saying 64bit in meaning they will work on 64 bit computer (arenāt they all) rather than be a 64 bit audio resolution.
I make no claim to understanding the magic, hence why I try to understand these discussions.
There are no 64bit interfaces.
The new 32bit float interfaces offer the possibility to record levels that would have clipped fixed bitrate convertors. Thatās all.
More bits is not higher resolutionā¦the recording will be the same in 24bit or 32 bit if you record without clipping.
thanks Grim. Thatās what I figured.
