But as a first step, it would be great to have this snap point functionality for normal audio fixed.
Sorry for a late reply here.
SubTopic: "How should a glued audio event or “groove anchor” connect to groups?
Let’s say we have a project with a loop on track 1 and some vocal chops on track 2. We group these 2 tracks in a folder called “groove”, because they belong to each other. We now create a 3rd track with some vocals playing with that groove, but not intentionally hitting it.
Now I realize, oh, there need to be some acceleration for a better performance in the second loop, but the vocals should follow exactly this tempo change not loosing the loose musical connection to the groove.
What is the answer in Cubase now? I will use AudioWarp (for all events!) and even some reversed cymbals work as expected and stayed in place.
So, is AudioWarp the answer? Well it is if your Laptop is big enough to handle the extra load from AudioWarp, which is no problem for medium size projects.
If you only need a right positioning without AudioWarp, then it is not.
As we see here, there is some conceptional difference between handling audio and “musical audio”, which is counterintuitive for users (at least for me).
I will check if an audio container (= audio part) with different audio events also work. Hold the line, please.
