The desert smokes, the clouds are green, the hordes will move, Internecine…
the knife that cuts, will rip your heart, tear your very, soul apart,
the fight will be, for all you see, because you dont see, what they see,
with borrowed time, the dogs will run, and seek their moment, in the sun.

the dust of tomorrow will lay,
on the things that you do,
that you say,
it will fill every space in your mind,
deliver the death of mankind,
the dust of tomorrow will blow,
through the cultures you all used to know,
it will choke everything you behold,
destroy everything you’ve been told,

the ice is warm, the sceptics laugh, you know the world , will break your heart,
Embrace the truth, confront your fear, the pain of death, is in your tear,

A lonely sea,a lonely sky,
will you be there, to question why,
the wind of change, is blowing cold,
should you believe, the things your told…

before you love, before you cry, you’ll see your life, has passed you by,
complacency, for all to see, will sacrifice your legacy,

the dust of tomorrow will lay,
on the things that you do,
that you say,
it will fill every space in your mind,
deliver the death of mankind,
the dust of tomorrow will blow,
through the cultures you all used to know,
it will choke everything you behold,
destroy everything you’ve been told,

Kevin,

there’s a lot going on here. Epic stuff indeed. I really like it when a song changes pace in the middle as it can lead the listener to a sense of bliss or a poignant moment of empathy. Here, though, I was slightly irritated by the lack of urgency following on from the opening angst. At the least, I wanted your music to build back into your main theme but in hindsight what I really wanted was a middle which went faster and was more dynamic leading to an even bigger return (perhaps in another key or octave). But, that’s just me and my musical point of view coming out.

The goodbye at the end was a surprise and worth the effort.

Jonathan

Hi Kevin, liked this one a lot. I would only hope for a more pronounced and interesting bass. I agree with Jonathan that the change of pace in the middle really makes a lot of sense and holds the piece together. Always great singing. So was that a nuclear bomb at the end, or just the sound of ice sheets breaking off? I was thinking it was about global climate change, but maybe while it’s making everything horrible, they unload a couple of big ones?

Hi Jonathan, thanks for listening and commenting, I couldn’t make it any more urgent than it it already is, I aint a good enough player…
there is a key change in the song…

best, Kevin

Hi early, thanks for the listen…the sound at the end can be interpreted any way you want my friend…
and you know the bass is always a problem for me, just hate doing the bass…
the song is about all the crap that’s going on everywhere…from the political correctness that prevents proper discussion about things to Europe creating a crisis where non existed before to …etc…etc…

everything’s gone mad…

best, Kevin

Kevin, sorry if I sounded like I knew what I was talking about. Your musicianship is not in question. I think you are good enough. The song has some real potential, I’d like to see it really take off.

Jonathan

No problem Jonathan, I didn’t feel you were questioning my musicianship at all, If I was a better guitarist it would be a better song…no doubt about that…

best, Kevin

Hi Kevin,

it’s a freaking epic sound you have here. Humungo-cactoblastus.©

My mixes are often dense, but yours are hyper-arenic.©

My only “nit” comment is about the bass. If you can do something
either level or part wise it would help the balance.

cheers for listening Jet and giving me some new words, although I did note that they are copy protected :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

the bass…again!! wish I lived next door to a good bassist…
