Mute is usually cancelled by a nat. (natural) or ord. playing technique. For Strings use con sord to mute and senza sord. to revert back to non muted.

What I don’t understand is why you tell me that the position of the open is ambiguous.

Usually this happens if the “mute” playing technique has a duration. See my explanation here: Proofreading Dorico 6 - #52 by Richard_Lanyon

So, as I just checked and see that it’s correct, it’s about selecting only the first note. This forum is wonderful with so many great people.
