The Korg Collection in Cubase 14

It´s been a while since I used the Korg plugins in Cubase, especially the ones that have been around for a while like Monopoly, Polysix and M1. I am curious if anyone else have any experience with them? I could write the Korg support, but where to start? Most the time the plugins work just fine, and I never have any issues if they run from the start of loading the project.

Sometimes Cubase 14 just crash with the plugins included in the loading project, sometimes the plugins shows with no GUI - just text and parameters.

The workaround is to uninstall them, re-install them and it is back to normal. BUT I can´t figure out why or when this happens. Kinda pain in the ass if you do not remember which instruments is included in the project so I just do a couple uinstalls/installs to get back in business.

Anyone else have experience with this? I am running on the MAC M4 15.6 OS

I do use these VSts too. Never really had a problem apart from a time, when Polysix crashed in a very specific project once.

Is this related to an issue appearing from time to time in other VSTs as well, as I see here in the forum?

i do not think so. I do not really have problems with any plugins on either platforms. But now I am pretty much switched permantly to mac. I. am not a deeply knowledgeable MAC user as I was 100% Windows until this year. Last night I was working on a remix, italo disco style, so the Korg plugins are very cool for that type of sound. I was running it without problems. I wake up and do some more work on that project, no issues. I then start to fiddle around with some non music stuff, I restart my MAC and I decide I am tired of the SDA starting on startup (even if I close down or restart my mac very rarely) and try to stop a few other installers like the Softube, Native Instruments and Arturia -I give up as it messes things up and put everything back on. Then I go back to Cubase to continue work on my remix. I start loading the project and Cubase just hard crashes 4 times in a row. I then go ahead and uninstall the 3 Korg VSTi I use (some in multiple instances) - the project then loads just fine, but report the plugins missing. I reinstall the plugins and the project works perfect like before  I didn´t even thinker with any Korg settings/installers. Just very odd behavior. and like I said, sometime I will load up the Polysix and it has no gui, then I must also uninstall then reinstall to get back the gui.

Strange indeed. The thing is that my music PC is still a Win one, so I don’t know whether this might be Mac related. I mean Korg’s distribution for Mac.

Please send me a link when done

If you aren’t seeing the GUI, that means for some reason they can’t see the VST2 versions. The VST3 plugins pull their GUI and who knows what else from the VST2 plugin itself. Both HAVE to be installed for the VST3s to work properly, at least on the Mac.

I keep hoping one day they’re going to update them, but nothing since they got updated to VST3.

hmm very interesting. it might be the source of most my problems then, because I remove just about all plugins that is not VST3 with the Wide Blue audio uninstaller. I will have to get more selective with removals.

Ah, this is then surely an issue as @Monotremata pointed out. Same thing can happen to you with some Arturia plugins. I had this bad experience some months ago, when I too decided to remove vst2 plugins.
