The multi processing option in the preferences (audio page) sometimes gets deselected here

Is this a project based function or should it remain for all projects if I set it once?

for everyone, and for me too it sometimes turns off spontaneously…

Local setting (prference)

yes. as sergeantt67 just said it seems that this function turns on or off spontaneously in the preferences. So it seems that other users have the same problem: Option is turned in, but as soon as the program is started the next time it suddenly is off, even the user never turned it off in the meantime…

Yes, this is exactly the behavior, I turn it on in the settings and it periodically turns itself off, this definitely shouldn’t happen

Same for this option:

I think about the Multiprocessing option in the settings you can forget for now and not turn it on at the moment it does not improve anything but adds problems exactly like crackling and clicking and it does not matter how many cores you have on the processor I tried both on Ryzen 5 5600 and on Ryzen9 5950x the result is almost the same, yes you can even see it yourself in the device manager by selecting the performance tab
but when it’s turned off I can play at least 32 samples at 48 kHz and everything will be stable and nothing will click

Off is possible because MP needs to be switched off during certain operations, and it may “forget” to switch it on again - we are investigating.
On however is not possible.
“Scan Plugins” - we have not seen that yet, what exactly happens?

Reg MP switching “off”, pls try again with the next pre-release version (tomorrow, we hope).

Same (or opposit) as multiprocessing function: I turn it off but next time I start VST Live again it is back turned on…
Might have to do with my crashed - don’t know

v. 2.2.73 still not working

is it always turning OFF or always turning ON by itself at every single start?
Renaming VST Live ini file maybe?

Turning off

How to and what exactly to check or do?

Use “Help/Clean all User Data” instead.

As I did that recently I’m quite sure that this is not the solution

Was refering to “rename .ini file”. Clean user data removes that file, so that is the recommended way to acheive the same result.

Ok, so this was not the solution

Yes, it seems to be working fine now, it doesn’t turn off randomly anymore, but enabling it definitely doesn’t provide any benefit, but it does add load in VST Live itself, which is even noticeable in the CPU indicator, and in the device manager it’s clearly visible that it doesn’t change the distribution across cores, with or without the mode enabled.
