The "Steinberg Licensing Manager" and "Cubase 12" freeze on startup?

Hey, I’ve been trying to upgrade to Cubase 12. However the new Steinberg Licensing Manager just freezes on a white screen, won’t load. and If I try to run cubase 12 it stucks on “initialzing licenses” If I uninstalled the licensing manager I get “no licenser found”

No idea what to do. I have Cubase 11 on a dongle.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling elicenser software and abunch of stuff, is there any abosolute way to uninstall all elicenser / steinberg activation manager with registry? so I can try completely fresh install?

Got the same problem

I fixed it here

hi, I got the same problem, I installed cubase element 12 and I am stuck on “checking license” and Steinberg activation manager does not response and just got stuck on white screen. I tried deleting logs and data folder still did not work, has anybody faced the same problem and fixed it the other way beside deleting those “data and logs” folder?

I have the exact same problem, has anybody fix it?

I have Cubase 12 and 13 with the latest updates. Neither one can check the VST3 licenses without freezing the program. Sometimes, after a complete shutdown and turn on (Not restart) I can get one to start up. If the computer sleeps, and needs to be woken up, then all hope it lost; no way it can check licenses. This has only started early this year or late last year. I did let it run and came back about 40 minutes later and Cubase had loaded. How ever, the program was “glitchy” and, after I quit, the was no memory of what I had done. Sigh. I see that people have been struggling with this for about 2-3 years.

So I just tried to load a new copy of the SteinbergActivationManager and the attempt froze; “Please wait while the program is initializing” has been on my screen for 5 minutes now. Not sure what to think about that.
