Third party install plug ins

i am fairly new to Cubase 14 now upgraded to 15 pro.

use to use Cubase all the time before pc died . anyway what i can not find is which folder to install third party plug ins ex: Unison’s chord genie , bass dragon and drum monkey.

i seem to get audio clicking when i use any of them , mainly if used in reason 13 but where is correct place to add them please anyone?

If they are vst3 then the installer should default to correct location C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

If they are vst2 then you can choose pretty much any folder you like and enable vst2 in cubase plugin manager and add the path.

I’ve looked through and found my unison folder is located in program files (86) same place vas download assistant folder. see screenshots.

these are all in cubase 14 folder

do i need to move them?

no one?

Hi,
I am not sure that I got it right:

You are on a new PC and you want to reinstall old plugins you used on the other PC, right?

In that case, just reinstall them and make sure to use the latest version. VST3 plugins will be installed in that default folder like @Grim said, VST2 can be installed literally anywhere.

If you install VST2 plugins make sure to check the VST2 box on the top right in VST Plugin Manager in Cubase.

If you are looking for a dedicated folder on your old PC that contains the old plugins in order to simply copy them: I wouldn’t do that. There are too many things that can go wrong - it’s not a good idea.
Fresh install - activate VST2 if needed, done if the VST2s are still supported.
