ok so i will try to explain my issue the best i can…
i have a usb dongle from the days of cubase 5 (almost 20 years now) the current license on it is for cubase 9 pro. my issue is that the serial number of the usb elicenser is registered on another user… probably an old one that i had which i have no more access to it. so now with the elicenser service closing down soon im trying to upgrade my cubase to 14 and transfer my license to the steinberg licensing app. my main issue is that my current steinberg account doesn’t have any license on it and i don’t know how to recover it from what it seems to be an old account that i don’t have access to. please someone help me figure this out.

You need to update your license with the MySteinberg account, where the old license sits.
Get in touch with your local Steinberg support to manage your MySteinberg accounts.
hi thanks for the quick answer. i’m not sure they will be able to access the old account since i don’t remember any information about it whatsoever. will they be able to access something like that with only the serial number of license?

If you provide the USB-eLicenser Number, they are able to find the MySteinberg, where it has been registered. Then they can provide all the data you need (the email address, etc.).
