I’m just changing from pc to mac. The mac has thunderbolt and the mr816 is ieee. What’s the solution to connecting them please.

I don’t think there is a direct to 400 adapter. You go thunderbolt to firewire 800 then use an 800 to 400 cable to hook up the MR.

Have you a chance to try the mr816 with the thunderbolt/firewire adapter yet?
I’d like to change my macbook pro but the new models do not have a firewire port anymore.
