Time signature change

I am just wondering if there is a way to change the time signature without every note sticks to the bar
Let’s say I want to change 3/4 to 4/4 but when I change the time signature, every note will move so it becomes off beats.

any ideas?

Can you share an example of e.g. a couple of bars in 3/4 as they are now, and those same bars as you would want them to end up in 4/4? I’m struggling to picture what you want.

In general though, when you change the time signature in Dorico, all your notes are left where they were, in relation to each other. What happens essentially is that barlines move around the notes.

If you want to push notes back e.g. an eighth note, you could insert an eighth note beat at the beginning of the flow? To insert one eighth note using the popover, the entry is “1e”.
