How do I get timpani notes to stop from ringing after the passage ends? I am using NI Symphony Series timpani, and it has a damp keyswitch which works great manually, but I’m unsure how to get Dorico to activate it.
Try sending the damp keyswitch via a Playing/Playback Technique or custom Expression Map entry.
In the Expression Map editor you can also specify actions for NOTE OFF events…
maybe you can set up something functional in combination with note length conditions…
Trying to dampen NPPE’s timpani, the damp playback technique (through the Damp playing technique) does not work. Shortening the note using the Key editor doesn’t work either. Any ideas?
[Edit] I think it’s a Synchron Prime Timpani problem. Using HOOPUS’ one solves my problem…
