Tiny imprecision in MTC-slave mode

Today was the time I Could test MTC-slave feature. Seems there is about a second of imprecision in the “TC reader”

Imprecision (cca. 1sec) in sync test environment:
VL as slave - timedisplay
loopMIDI
Reaper as TC master’s timedisplay

While Precise sync (same setup):
VL as MTC master
loopMIDI
Reaper as MTC slave

Similar story here. I’m using an X32 Rack with the X-live card putting out SMPTE to a JL Cooper PPS1 which outputs MTC to VL.

will check

Are you sure a second off? Frame rates are ok?
Internally connected to a test reader shows no such difference, if any, 1 frame.
Maybe try again with the next version, but the reader hasn’t changed…
Also connected mtc writer to virtual midi out and observe in Midi Monitor, aside time display. There may be up to 2 frames difference because MTC is only updated every 2 frames, but certainly not close to a second.

Dear @musicullum , sorry for delayed respond. Tested now on MAC and WIN and imprecision (via loopback MIDI between C14 / VL2.2.2) decreased to a few frames only.
Upper Cubase14-BigCounter
Below VSTL2.2.2. counter.

A tiny feat req. for the future:
What if giving an olways on top pin option to VL’s TimeDisplay? Would be lovely.

Will check again, thanks.

Coming next version.
