Title page in parts

WooHoo! Title page created and in the right place. Now I’ll see if I can add the title page to all of the parts.

If you do this often, you can set keystrokes for it. I made an jumpbar alias for it. Works very fast.

Title page added to the Violin part. Is there a way to add it to all the parts at once, rather than each part one at a time?

No, you have to do it part by part. But as Maarten said, you can use the jump bar for it. Just select the page, and type “J” followed by IPTC and you will have the command at the top of the list:

If you give your title page a name starting with a it will be at the beginning of the list. So you go with jump bar to insert template change and hit enter and it is done.

Yes, the J feature is great to have in Dorico. Going forward, when I make an arrangement for full orchestra, will there be a way to add a title page for all the parts or will I need to do this for each individual part from piccolo to double bass?

Be sure that you are creating the title page as a Template page (not as one of the individual parts). Then you only create the page once, but can apply it to each page as needed. Template pages are different for the Full Score and the Parts, so you will need to create your title page twice (once for Full Score templates and once for the Parts template). If any part has a manual override (red triangle on the layout page) the template cannot be applied (because you’ve overridden it with a manual change). Remove the override (right-click to see option), then add your title page in to the part.

There is a significant distinction between editing the template and editing each individual part - know which one you’re editing.

You actually only need to create it once, and you can then import it into the other set.

Here I’m viewing a part layout in Engrave mode, and I have created a couple of custom templates for my page template set.

Now if I switch to the score layout, I can click the import template button in the Page Templates panel.

And then I’m able to import into the score page template set any of the templates from the part page template set.

Many thanks to all of you who have helped me out on this thread. When I need to get something done right away, I still rely on Finale because I know it well, and it’s still working with Mac OS 15. However, that won’t last forever, so I’m slogging my way through the Dorico learning process. Meanwhile my next string trio gig is coming up soon!
